What is Archer?

A quick overview of the Archer platform and how its pieces fit together.

Archer is a precision viticulture platform built by RTAgri. It helps vineyard teams map their land, record what they see in the field, and coordinate the work that needs to happen as a result.

Archer is made up of:

  • The Archer mobile app — used by field staff on a phone or tablet. Pairs with an RTK GPS receiver for sub-meter accuracy when mapping blocks or recording trouble spots.
  • The Archer portal (ArcherCloud) — a web app used in the office to review mapping, manage configuration, and oversee field work across your sites.
  • In-tractor terminals — Archer-powered terminals that run operations in the field. (Not covered in these docs yet.)

All of these share the same backend, so data recorded in the field appears in the portal immediately — and configuration made in the portal flows out to field devices.

Who uses Archer?

  • Field staff — walk or drive blocks to map boundaries, mark field features, and report trouble spots as they find them.
  • Vineyard managers — review mapping, check the trouble spot list, and plan work.
  • Agronomists and consultants — use the portal to see what's happening on a site and add notes.

What's in these docs today

These docs cover Archer's core MVP workflows:

Other parts of Archer — work plans, live vehicle view, equipment configuration, onboarding — are in active development and will be documented as they stabilize.
